Breathe Deep, No Judgement!

Breathe Deep

In a world that wants to be more divided, I am reminded of one of the lyrics from a band that I enjoyed – The Lost Dogs, “Breathe Deep.” Essentially they call out every kind of person someone could be. The labels are easy to follow and it points out a desire to group and label people. I think “we,” and I mean everyone, has a tendency to label and divide so that we can judge one another. It’s easier to look at someone else and say, “at least I am not as bad as they are, or those people.”  The essence of the song is everybody everywhere, breathe deep the breath of God!

I believe in God, The Creator. I believe that Jesus was the Son of God and that His death and resurrection are real. His sacrifice on the cross offers salvation to all through Christ. There I said it! In some regards, it is a little scary to say this in today’s world. You can choose to agree or disagree, it’s up to you. What is up to me, is to Love God, and then Love people.

There are many Christians that have taken stances on different issues and they have followed their convictions, not wavering. Those are their convictions.

Down to Earth Jewelry Has Re-Launched

We are proud to re-launch Down to Earth Jewelry with a new website and a better platform with WordPress. As with any web-based business, we are continuing to tweak and add more content and designs.

Down to Earth Jewelry was started by Sharon and Ben McPherson back in 1997 while living in Oklahoma; making their first sales on eBay. The sales from eBay was the primary channel for DTEJ until 1999, when Sharon started the first DTEJ on-line store at the prompting of a friend. It was an exciting time, as the world wide web (www) was opening up opportunities for a grandmother living in Oklahoma to sell to the world. Sharon would design the jewelry and Ben would package and ship. The team had a system. Throughout the years, Sharon moved the business from Oklahoma back to Texas, keeping it a priority to provide great customer service with a commitment to quality.Coral and Magnesite with Copper Accents

Sharon always enjoyed the opportunities she shared with her children and grandchildren helping design, fill orders, and package for her customers. The special moments shared with her family and the connections of the customers have helped to define the culture of Down to Earth Jewelry.

Next Generation

Sharon’s son in law, Brian Shannon, and daughters (Claire, Hannah, and Fiona) are now taking over the day to day operations of Down to Earth Jewelry.  Sharon is keeping her watchful eye on the legacy that she created for her family, to ensure the legacy continues.
